Chris Haney: Former LHP MLB several teams

1. Could you tell us your story on dropping down?

I dropped down there at the end of my career and only against lefties.

2. What are some of the advantages you had from your arm angle?

For most of my career my curveball wasn't really one of my stronger pitches so I needed something else to face lefties with. Because I could throw one similar to a frisbee from that angle it was just something I could show that worked away from a left handed hitter.

3. If you didn't drop down, do you think you would have had the same success?

No Response

4. What would you tell someone debating on changing their arm angle?

Personally as far as a recommendation to a younger pitcher I take the stance that I prefer overhand but as in my case you have to get hitters out. In a nutshell I was doing whatever I could to get guys out and I was much better down there than I was up top against lefties.
