 1. Could you tell us your story on dropping down?

Well, throwing sidearm has always come natural to me. Ever since I was little I loved base all and especially watching big leaguers play. And to watch shortstops throw my a lower angle was always appealing. The more I played the more I tried to imitate that motion. Of course while I was growing up I was an overhead thrower. All the way up to my fourth year of pro ball. However, the conversation came when I was fielding pfps and I had to turn two on a bang bang play, of course i threw it sidearm to get rid of it. And was pulled into the office about two weeks later we had a discussion about making that conversation and I fully committed to it. April 1st will be one year to date.

2. What are some of the advantages you have from your arm angle?

I think the deceptiveness and the movement I gained was something that definitely changed. It's uncomfortable to hitters. The ball always looks like it's going to hit them.

3. If you didn't drop down, do you think you would have had the same success?

I think I would have success either way. Due to my determination and self confidence. I believe that whatever you do as long as you out you're heart and soul into if anything is possible. And no I don't regret anything. My path might have been different. But i might never be here if things were different. And we cant play that game of what ifs. I just know I'm here now and ready to compete.

4. What would you tell someone debating on changing their arm angle?

If you're going to do it COMMIT to it. And be willing to learn. But also to feel COMFORTABLE. Remember you're going to be throwing for a new angle. Oh and to look at side arm throwing as throwing over head but from down under haha.

5. Are there any mechanical tips that you'd give to someone throwing sidearm/submarine?

The softer the glove side the better your arm can clear from that angle. Also keep it simple. The easier it is to repeat your motion the better off you'll be.

6. What pitches do you throw?

Well it's evolved into two arm slots over the top and side arm.I throw a changeup, 4 seam, slider, and sinker. From both arm slots.over the top fb is 88 to 91 But side arm is 82 to 91 change up is 67 to 72 slider is 74 to 76

7. How do you pitch to lefties/righties?

In, in, in. Biggest thing don't let those guys get extended. Hard in soft away. Trusting movement. And change of speeds.

8. Lastly what is your favorite part about pitching from down there?

How much fun the game has become. Pro baseball is a grind it's no joke. And to be able to the enjoy the game as if I was in the back yard 7 years old playing wiffle ball. Just having fun!
